'Till the Sun Comes Out2019'Till the Sun Comes Out
The scratched ridges of the coins dig into my palm as I hold them protectively against my heaving chest. I lean up again the broken brick wall of a building, trying to catch my breath. I want to hold my ears: the sirens always needle at my eardrums when I come this far into towneven during the day. I bite my bottom lip, opening my palm and looking at the sweat warmed coins. I count carefully: one, two, three dollars. Taking a deep breath, All there. I peer around the side of the building towards the road: the same destruction, no people, Good. Okay, on the count of three: onetwothree!
I dash f

Mother, why is it so?When I step outside my doorway, without the steps warmth to comfort me I see you as you really are. Destroyed by men and the hostility of war, why are you so cold.Mother, why is it so?
When I walk down what we used to call our main street, I see what I've missed No longer is there the hum of traffic and the shouts of passengers I see you as you really are
When I continue my stroll down for milk and bread I walk away with tablet vitamins and energy pills real food, just a memory I see you as you really are
And when I return back to what I call my home for no longer is it a house

The second coming...I look out of my window every morning to see the effects. People fighting in the streets, people starved to death, lying in corners. There is no salvation for these people, we have been abandoned. Left to hunger and poverty, I know I will not last much longer. The second coming...
There is no reason for this dark event, other than greed. People take from eachother, because they don't have enough. People can live without enough, but nobody can live with none. And this is what the second coming has done to us.
The first depression changed the world a great deal, This one is changing it a great deal

HandcuffsThe lines seem clear for the moment I bit my nails while you never missed a note Too intuitive for your nature My emotions are scattered on a tight rope My feet are intent on dangling on the high rise Without your assistance Only your voice calls me not your body I need your hands Your thoughts to serve me with a purpose Not with malicious intent Your mouth always gets the best of you While I contend with the scraps I pucker my lipsHandcuffs
Braving a face that never looks like me

Kindest MemoriesI walk amongst these ancient trees Listening as they whisper to me In words only I will find meaning: Timeless, unfettered dreams Holding the kindest memories.Kindest Memories
Listening as they whisper to me Tales of Shakespearean tragedy,
And raven sitting above the door. Oedipus and his fateful destiny, Evokes the deepest sentiments in me.
In words only I will find meaning,
Significant in eyes spent dreaming. Lenin and his vision of equality The passion of Mohandas Gandhi, Their verse seems so empowering
Timeless, unfettered dreams,
Never

Emptiness and InstinctThe emotion of having no thoughts and dreams, Comes stealth, Strikes me in a hesitant moment, No real control over my substantial and intellectual self, Can't feel pain, fury, or love, It's distressing how bad this world has become, The mind games that I can only seem to notice, The hurt in a persons eyes that others overlook, Am I the only one that can see and feel what another is feeling? That is as it seems to me! The sentiment of wanting to help, Kills me ever time someone doesn't want it, Their throbbing becomes my sting, All I have ever wanted to do was the riEmptiness and Instinct

A MurdererShe falls to the ground Unaware of sin Content to die After centuries of watching The steady growth of the forestA Murderer
No curses are uttered For she forgives Her slayer With ineffable mercy How could they know?
Distilled wisdom fades From this earth With a smile Blowing a kiss on the breeze Saying her goodbyes
Centuries of knowledge Destroyed Just for children To find out what that dog Does at the fair
Oh how they'd cry Those pure children If only they knew That Postman Pat Had
